Central Park

You could find enough activities in Central Park to fill an entire weekend. There are 26 ball fields, a pond for fishing, concerts and even Shakespeare performances. But, one thing you must do in Central Park is take a bike ride around the 843 acres. There are companies that offer bike rentals if you don’t have your own bike. Since the park is so big, a bike is a good way to see it without getting too tired. Be sure to pick up a map of the park before you go.

Broadway

The nights in NYC are full of entertainment. Broadway is a must for a weekend in NYC. There are many options such as Wicked, Jersey Boys, and Lion King. Broadway in New York is always top- notch. You can usually find a better deal on tickets if you purchase them beforehand.

Statue of Liberty

As a historical landmark, this is a must see. You can ride a ferry out to the statue for a closer look. If you want to go in, you must make a reservation. Be sure you are prepared to climb the one hundred and seventy one stairs up. Be aware that the Statue of Liberty is undergoing renovations from October 2011 until October 2012.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

This is the number one tourist attraction in New York. In 2011-2012 there were 6.28 million visitors. This museum has over 2 million pieces of art. There is art from all time periods. The art is separated in different wings. You can spend hours at this museum because it is absolutely huge. In addition to the amazing artwork, the views from the roof are breathtaking. You get great views of Central Park and the New York skyline.

Rockefeller Center

This is a great place for shopping, dining and many other attractions. This is a lot less busy than the Empire State Building, but offers a great view of NY from “The Top of the Rock”. You can sign-up for a great tour to get the information about the Rockefeller family and history of the building.
